The Voyage Community Garden
Thank you for your interest in the Community Garden! This year our garden will be a “true” Community Garden. By this we mean that we will not be assigning plots to specific gardeners. We will be planting all of our crops together and tending and harvesting them together. This will allow us to better care for our crops and rotate them properly next year. This will be a fun and educational experience. Our hope is to not only have a great harvest for ourselves, but to have extra to offer to the families using the food pantry.
Some other info about summer 2011 in the Community Garden:
- We will continue to be as organic as possible.
- Remember that we have the composting bin available for your kitchen scraps and yard waste. Please see Cara or Colleen if you have any questions about what is appropriate to put in the bin.
- If you know of anyone who would like to participate, please feel free to invite them! If you come and work, you get to harvest!
- We will be having at least two planting days and numerous work days throughout the summer. Our spring crop planting day will be in April, so stay tuned!
- If you have any questions, please contact Cara at carabouma@ymail.com or 249-3145
